Learner Support
English Language Learners
If you're a student learning English as a second or additional language, you'll be supported to advance your English language skills. Our staff use the English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP) to monitor student progress in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Second language learners are supported in class alongside peers, make use of online tools and may have individually tailored programmes. Students are encouraged to further develop their home language and maintain close cultural connections. Our senior timetable offers classes delivered in a virtual learning environment, so you may choose to study your first language for NCEA.

Our school community is welcoming and accepting of diverse learners. Specialist staff work alongside subject teachers to ensure that all learners can access the curriculum, make progress and achieve thier goals.
We recognise that unique individuals need tailor made supports. We work with whanau to get to know our learners, celebrate their talents and plan together for the future.
